What you can expect…

  • Late Cancellation

I ask for 48-hours notice for cancellations or to reschedule an appointment. Clients who provide less than 48-hours notice, or miss their appointment without contact ("no show"), will be charged the full session fee via the credit card on file.

If you are late to session without informing me (email is best for last minute changes), I will generally text or call to check-in. A session will be deemed a no-show after 15 minutes if I am unable to make contact with you.

  • Accountability

I am a human who makes mistakes, overlooks things, and may sometimes miss the mark. I am eager to hear feedback in service of creating deeper safety and trust together, and I want to facilitate repair whenever it's needed.

It's not uncommon for relationship dynamics that you experience in your life to reoccur in a therapeutic relationship. In therapy, we have a unique opportunity to process these dynamics at play, while I also hold that not all hurt/harm in therapy is a "projection”. My aim is, first and foremost, to be accountable to you for my actions and behaviour, and we may also look to connect what’s coming up between us to broader themes or concerns in your life.

  • Seeing You In Community

We may run into each other out in the world. If we do happen to cross paths I will not approach or acknowledge you without your initiation (part of my commitment to maintain your confidentiality). If you do initiate contact, I will generally keep it brief and may choose to quietly leave the space out of respect for our professional relationship, depending on the context and my personal relationship to the space we’re in. I aim to balance my professional role and my personal connections to my local community with care and thoughtfulness.

I may reach out via email afterwards to check-in, depending on the nature of how we crossed paths. This is intended to create a compassionate space for any feelings or concerns our run-in may have brought up for you.

  • Relationship To Time

Sessions are booked as either ‘check-in’, standard, or ‘extended’. I try and balance time as a fluid construct, while also creating a reliable container for us to work within. I am often a few minutes late to session, and will always make the time up on the other end - and I’m happy to offer the same grace back to you whenever my schedule allows (generally up to about ten minutes).

Check-in sessions are no longer than thirty minutes (done via phone), standard sessions are no longer than an hour, and extended sessions are no longer than ninety minutes (from the start of our scheduled time). Whenever possible, I aim to bring the session to a natural end vs. being bound to a particular time on the clock. There is a visible clock in my office & online for both of us, which allows us both to be mindful of the container, but ultimately I hold the responsibility for time management.

Folks I like to work with

Big feelers, people-pleasers in recovery, folks in the process of unmasking and/or integration, twice-exceptional (2e) individuals, disabled folks, hurt people who have hurt people, those wanting more than CBT could offer, other “helpers”, folks repairing their relationship to sex, self-medicators and the sober-curious, angry people, creatives and artists, traumatized folks, people in the LGBTQ+ community, people wanting more embodiment and access to emotion, those in non-normative relationship structures, kinksters, and those who have always felt somehow both too much & not enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes I do! I am available online Tuesday through Friday, and my registration with the BCACC means I can work with anyone in BC as an RCC.

  • I do! I have office space on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Kitsilano on Fir & 7th ave. The space is not wheelchair accessible, and the waiting room is shared with other counsellors and health professionals.

  • Front Entrance: The front entrance is accessed via 3 steps, and through a manually opened front door, which is unlocked via a doorbell system - I can also come down and get you/open the door.

Stair Access: There are 6 interior flights of stairs leading to the 3rd floor in a stairwell.

Elevator Access: An elevator is available to reach the third floors; however, please note that it is frequently out of order. If this is a barrier, please let me know, and I will do my best to inform you ASAP if the elevator is out of order. We can reschedule or pivot to seeing each other online at no cost to you.

Step-Free Access: A stair-free entrance is available at the back of the building through the parkade. This route avoids the front steps and provides less barriers to access the elevator, though there is a threshold in the doorway. You will need to text/email me upon arrival so I can come down and let you in the door.

Washrooms: There are two gendered washrooms on the 3rd floor of the office, accessible via key (hanging in the waiting room). One washroom has a urinal and 2 non-wheelchair-accessible stalls, and one washroom has 3 non-wheelchair-accessible stalls. If there are any concerns around using these washrooms, please let me know, as there are single stalled staff washrooms (generally not available for client usage). They are larger in size but do not include mobility aid bars.

Air Quality & Masking: Offices are requested to be fragrance-free, though some clinicians do use scented products (e.g. essential oils). Air purifiers are located throughout the shared New Tides suite, and the individual office I rent has a small personal air purifier that is turned on through sessions. I am also able to open the patio door to provide airflow. Masking is optional within the shared office spaces, with most clinicians and clients not currently masking. I am happy to mask upon request.

Office Space: I sit in a large chair which faces a moderately sized 3-seater couch. There is a large window which has a view of trees. The curtains can be closed as needed. I have fidget toys and Jellycats in the office, which are disinfected regularly, and you are welcome to bring your own stim and/or comfort items. The office uses sunlight and lamp lighting, with overhead fluorescent lights that are turned off.

Please email me with any other specific accessibility questions or concerns :)

  • Yes! I love working with other helping professionals. I bring my experience in crisis intervention, sex and relationships, and somatic therapy to the table, and want to walk alongside you as you navigate your Self alongside your professional parts, including ethical dilemmas, tough cases, BCACC complaints, and counter-transference. Contact me to chat more! I am not currently ACS certified (in progress), and do not offer supervision for interns/practicum students.

  • First and foremost, I’d be happy to receive the feedback that the way I’m showing up or something I’ve done/said hasn’t worked for you. Some of my ways of practicing (cancellation policy, professional boundaries, my schedule, outside of session availability) are fairly concretized, while others (relationship to time, the modality I’m using, how we use session time) are quite flexible. I’m happy to discuss, negotiate, and adjust to better accommodate your therapy needs. If we find we aren’t aligned, I’m happy to offer referrals to other practioners.

  • Individual clients (counselling and professional consultation):

    Standard session - $155

    Extended session - $232.50

Dyad counselling (two of you, one of me):

    Standard session - $180

    Extended session - $270

  • Sometimes! I am a Masters-level clinician, and a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC (registration #16887) - I do not direct bill to benefits programs, so check with your extended health benefits to see if you’re covered

I am also registered with CVAP and with the Autism Funding Unit (AFU), and can bill them directly for our sessions, if you are eligible

  • Some of my relevant identities to our work – I am white, queer, gender non-conforming, neurodivergent, and I have navigated the mental health system in ways that inform my relationship to diagnosis. I am spiritual, but not religious, and nature, boxing, swimming, comedy, tarot, animals, and connection are some of my favourite resources outside of the therapy room. You’ll find me happiest in a natural body of water, laughing with friends around the dinner table, or lying in the sun with a good book.

I seek consistent therapy, consultation, and supervision to support my work as a therapist, and I pursue ongoing training and mentorship in the world of somatics, anti-oppression, disability, anti-fat bias, feminist and systemic therapy, attachment theory, and trauma.

I am a depth-oriented person who believes that we all move towards community, connectedness, integrity, and love when we have the right container.
